THE MANAGEMENT BY THE QUALITY

In 1999, the Managerial Direction of PKL decided to implement and to apply a management system which constantly improves the effectiveness and efficiency of the company performances. It must contribute to guarantying its perenniality by economic and social performances continuously consolidated. This system stimulates the search for satisfaction of the customer in particular by listening to the client, the offer of varied foods meeting the nutritional needs of the populations and adapted to their economic and social realities as well as their food habit.

The procedure HACCP, taken since 1999 and updated regularly, led to the installation of a policy of hygiene and security which allows the control of the potential dangers for food security, which limits the risks of contamination and implements an effective monitoring system for the quality of the finished products.

PKL's policy quality is articulated around five strategic axes: the customer's satisfaction, the guarantee of hygiene and nutritional value, the profitability of the activities, the economic performance and improvement of the staff competences.

Towards the client it can simply be summarized as follows: to make good, clean and simple food.

GOOD: adapted formulation, nutritive products, appetizing, with constant characteristics.

CLEAN: sure, healthy and well conditioned products.

SIMPLE: known ingredients, easy mode of consumption, easy and inexpensive to cook.

The Quality Department of PKL is in charge of the good application of the SMQ (System of Management of Quality). It is directed by a food engineer specialized in management of quality. This department manages three services: Quality control, Quality assurance and HACCP & Environment.

he system of quality management will contribute to the realization of PKL's ambition which is to become, in the next ten years, one of ten best food companies of West Africa . This classification will be based on the one hand, on the quality of company certified to the international standard of quality, and on the other hand on the recognized economic criteria.
